Las Vegas Strip Clubs

Strip clubs in Vegas are somewhat bigger and have better girls than most strip clubs in the U.S.  However, despite Vegas’ image, contact is regulated and some girls abide by the rules.  The money grubbing level (the Hustle factor) in Vegas may be higher than other cities.  Also, cabbies get paid to bring customers into the clubs and are NOT unbiased sources of information.

Critical factors in choosing a Vegas Strip club are:

5. Food and Drink
6. Number of girls
7. Strip Club Ambiance
8. Girls’ costumes
9. Design
10. Nude/Topless

Looks

Our top choice for both locals and visitors is Spearmint Rhino.  The girls are pretty, have large breasts and are good dancers.  Many girls are 7 or higher out of 10.  Olympic Garden is a very close number 2 and Little Darling’s/Deja Vu are the best nude clubs—both owned by the same company but more girl next door looks.

Mileage

Cheetah’s and Little Darling’s/Deja Vu can have very good lap dances but vary with the girl (and the amount of tipping).  Little Darling’s also has discounted lap dances twice a night when busy.  Seamless has an early afternoon special on lap dances for $10 versus the standard $20 but the first 3 strip clubs are often better. 

Hustle Factor

One of the clubs with the least amount of money grubbing is The Library—perennial locals’ favorite but inconvenient to the Strip and recommended only for locals or those with a car.  Showgirls Video has no pressure but is only a peep show. Other Locals places like Play It Again Sam and Tommy Rocker's are also low key.

At the typical Vegas club, they want lap dances and tips galore especially to go into the VIP rooms. The problem is that depending on the girl, it may not be that rewarding for you although certainly for the girl, club and bouncers.

Some clubs such as the Can-Can Room (Las Vegas’ oldest nude club) and Girls of Glitter Gulch will sometimes work very hard to empty your wallet.  The hustle factor can also be very high at some of the more upscale places such as Scores and Club Paradise.

Dancing

The best dance routines are usually found at Club Paradise and Little Darling’s/Deja Vu.  Club Paradise is more classic while Little Darling’s/Deja Vu sometimes have very athletic (but less busty and polished) performers. 

Olympic Gardens, Spearmint Rhino and Treasures often have good dance routines.  At some clubs the dancers move in time to the music (or maybe not) with the enthusiasm of someone doing household chores.  

Drinks and Dining

Our current choice for fine dining is Treasure’s followed by Scores (Treasures is the better of these 2 as a pure strip club). Both feature upscale dining that is not bad but a bit overpriced given other fine dining places in Vegas. However, for dining and a strip club experience the convenience cannot be beaten.

Most Las Vegas strip clubs do not serve food but may be near restaurants.  You can get pizza and wings from Boston Pizza at Olympic Garden, Joe's New York Pizza and Buffalo Wild Wings at Mile High and Capriotti’s subs at Seamless for example. Spearmint Rhino has fairly good bar food (we likeTommy Rocker's a bit more) but only Monday through Saturday. Play It Again Sam's full menu is 24/7.

As in most cities, nude clubs do not serve alcohol with the exception of the Palomino in North Las Vegas which was grand fathered in before current laws.  We recommend Palomino only if you have to have both nude and alcohol together. You only have to be 18 for the nude clubs but 21 for the topless clubs.

Some of the Las Vegas gentlemen’s clubs have drink specials so always ask about them when ordering.  For example, Minxx has $5.00 Patrons on Thursdays, etc.  Badda Bing! which had a soft opening on April 24 does not have drink specials as of now. Daytime during the week is usually the best time for specials.

If drinking cheap beer is of utmost concern to you, Larry’s Villa charges $3.75 but they expect you to tip the girls as part of the 1 beer minimum cover.  Mile High is the next cheapest at $4. Girls of Glitter Gulch and Scores charge $9 a beer.  All other strip clubs fall somewhere in-between. 

Quantity of Dancers

In addition to quality, quantity of girls also helps.  This varies a lot depending on conventions or holidays.  The following 9 Las Vegas strip clubs usually have the most dancers (100+) through the various shifts on Friday and Saturday nights:

• Spearmint Rhino
• Sapphire
• Scores
• Olympic Gardens
• Cheetah’s
• Seamless
• Treasures
• Club Paradise

Costumes

Most strip club costumes are variations of a bikini/lingerie type of look.  If you prefer a gown look, the 2 best clubs are Club Paradise and Treasures.  The typical stripping routine (in Vegas and everywhere else) is not so clothed, less clothed, then topless (or nude) while on stage.  Little Darling’s/Deja Vu is unique because they go nude offstage then come back to perform nude.

Ambiance

Seamless and Minxx have the best ambiance of the clubs for those looking for an upscale feel.  Seamless is more like a high end nightclub (which it is from 4 am to noon) and the best bathrooms of any strip club. 

Minxx is about the perfect size for a Strip Club (10,000-15,000 square feet), not huge like Sapphire and not as small as Babe’s before their remodel.  Minxx also has very nice furnishings, especially in the VIP area upstairs with slightly different decors for each of the rooms.  The skyboxes, if you can afford them, are private at Sapphire and are VIP rooms.  

If you do not like upscale, Larry’s Villa, The Library, Talk of the Town and Mile High club are less formal.  These are locals oriented and usually with the lowest hustle factor. Larry's could definitely appeal to those who do not like upscale clubs.   

Stage Design

Most clubs have reasonable designs but Sapphire has an issue.  Sapphire’s stage is high and cuts off the viewing angle from some close-up areas. However, they also have the skyboxes which look down on the floor for a unique viewing angle that some might prefer.  
  
For the claustrophobic, the 71,000 square foot Sapphire cannot be beat by any club in the U.S. with Scores (50,000) and Penthouse (40,000) also quite large.  However, the penalty for massive size is an empty feel to the club sometimes whereas OG and Spearmint Rhino often benefit from a concentrated party atmosphere.  The OG can particularly rock with bachelor and bachelorette (upstairs women only) parties.   

If you like smaller clubs such as 3,500 sq. ft. or smaller but still want a pole show, Mile High has a ball bearing pole which some dancers use to advantage. The locals clubs are also the smaller clubs as well so you can get a more intimate feel at places such as Foxy Girls, Talk of the Town, etc. but these smaller clubs have fewer girls as well with less than 50 for their weekend shifts and often less than 20.

Topless versus Nude

Although there is not much left to the imagination for the Topless clubs, some guys have to see everything. The drawback is that the Nude clubs do not serve alcohol except for the Palomino but you only have to be 18 (not 21) years old to get in. Here is a list of the clubs by Topless or Nude.

Additional Tips

Almost all the clubs in Vegas are enjoyable but for different reasons. Each club has its own dancers (although Deja Vu and Little Darlings seem to swap quite a few), their own style, unique drink pricing, etc. The best clubs for some might be the worst clubs for others. A big upscale party might favor Scores or Sapphire. Downscale single guys who want a low pressure experience might favor Play It Again Sam or Tommy Rockers.

Vegas Made Easy recommends Spearmint Rhino as the best overall club but there is a lot of variety to fit a lot of different desires. Just remember that when you make up your mind where you want to go, go there despite what the cabbies say. The current kickback is $50 which is enough of a bribe to get them to say things that are not true.

Always check the local alternative newspapers (CtiyLife and Las Vegas Weekly) for specials and remember that you can politely say no or even better “maybe later” in response to a strong hustle. If you learn to sidestep the hustle factor which is a bit higher here than elsewhere, Vegas strip clubs rank among the best in the U.S.

Las Vegas Strip Clubs Update 1/4/08 

Penthouse Club will officially open on January 11th at 7 pm with over 100 former or current Penthouse Pets and/or Key Girls there.  The highlights are a better designed stage (no longer behind the bar) and separate bars.  That odd design flaw was the major complaint about the old Sin Strip Club which it now replaces. 

VegasMadeEasy.com recommended the old Sin as one of the better but not best clubs in the city.  The other Penthouse Clubs in the U.S. tend to be well-regarded so this club is now on an upgrade watch although we still expect Spearmint Rhino and Olympic Garden to stay on top.

Las Vegas Strip Clubs Update 1/19/07

If you pull back the construction drapes (which they don’t want you to do) you can see that they are rebuilding the stage without the bar in front.  This will improve their design.  The employees say that it will become Penthouse in December but the Penthouse Clubs website still says January.   

Tommy Rocker’s is a Local’s Strip Club at 4275 Dean Martin (used to be called Industrial) zip code 89103 and phone 702-261-6688. Pretty good food and is low on the “hustle” factor that is very high and often quite annoying in Vegas.  There are only about a dozen girls on peak nights and they are not as good looking as Spearmint Rhino, Olympic Garden, etc. but better than Palomino and Glitter Gulch.  

Locals are free and cover for out-of-towners is $25.  Happy Hour beers from 6 am to 6 pm are $3.00 and $5.00 regularly.  Dancers start after 10 pm.   

Vegas Made Easy.com recommends it for those that like a laid-back atmosphere and are looking for a good bar with food first, and a Strip Club second.

May 1, 2008 Update

Badda Bing! had its soft opening on April 24. They will have a formal opening in perhaps a couple of weeks or so--maybe earlier. If you drive yourself admission is free. Cab or limo fee is $30.

They serve food but could change their menu. Currently it is pasta, chicken, burgers, etc. Imported beers are $8 and domestics are $7 with most well drinks at $8.

Hours are 4 to 8 am and location is 4625 S. Polaris, zip code 89103. Their number is 702-541-7000.

Our review is not scheduled until they have their formal opening. At that time we will have details about the girls, decor, staging, etc. Management has had experience in the industry so Badda Bing! is likely to be competitive.

May 3, 2008 Update

Mile Hile Gentlemen's Club is located at 6370 Windy St., zip code 89119 and phone is 702-693-4475. This location used to be the Eager Beaver, then Pleasures, then Runway and now Mile High. It is one of the smaller clubs in town at only about 7,000 total square feet, 3,500 floor space.

However, their drinks are very reasonable at $4 domestic and $6 import beers. There is a very good $1 well drink happy hour from 2-7 pm and cover is free if you don't come in a cab, $20 if you do.

No food but you can get Joe's New York pizza which is not Settebello's quality but not bad. There is a Buffalo Wild Wings near as well. 20-50 girls work their shifts.
